Have you ever encountered a customer with a limited budget who wants the best results, It puts you in a dilemma, If you can't achieve the desired effect, you can ruin your reputation ,If you want to achieve the expected effect, it is highly likely to exceed expectations.

We have a customer who got involved in this matter last year. He took on a project for a brand luminous logo, consisting of three letters and a large size. customer has clear requirements for the effect, requiring RGB+CT lighting effects, and the budget is also tight. He calculated twice using the LED strip scheme according to conventional thinking, and the result was the same: after dividing the materials and labor, this project was a pure loss.

Later, the customer called us and informed us about the situation of this project. We learned that the problem lies in the cost structure of the led strip, with large-sized illuminated characters, long strokes, and large area. The led strip needs to be fully attached inch by inch along the character shape, and the material usage cannot be reduced at all. The project was won, but sitting down and calculating the cost loss, we recommended the led block solution to him. Connect each block light with a 15CM wire, leaving a reasonable distance between modules without being densely packed. By adding a 170 degree wide-angle lens, the light can be evenly spread out and there will be no dark areas due to reduced light points.

The customer adopted this solution on this project with a trial. Final effect fully meets the requirements with uniform lighting, and the project has passed the acceptance smoothly.

More importantly, the cost. Compared to the scheme using light strips, the cost of the block light scheme has decreased by approximately 30%. For an engineering project with limited profit margins, 30% basically determines whether the business is profitable or unprofitable.

Of course, led block are not omnipotent and not suitable for all projects. Based on our experience in helping clients with solutions, if your project meets the following characteristics, led block are worth carefully evaluating:

Firstly, commercial scenes with large-scale uniform lighting. If the area is large and the light strip is used for pasting, the material consumption will be very high. If replaced with led block, the usage will significantly decrease.

Secondly, if the installation location is high or the working space is tight. The reduction in the number of modules means that the on-site wiring and fixed workload are synchronously reduced, saving labor and construction time.

Thirdly, customer has requirements for the uniformity of light emission, but there is no need to rely on dense lighting points to achieve hard stacking. A 170 degree lens can help you achieve the same coverage effect with fewer light points.

If your project happens to meet these conditions, perhaps you can use another approach like the client above to simultaneously maintain budget and effectiveness.

The advantage of the light strip lies in its flexibility, suitable for small, irregular, and ultra-thin scenes; The advantage of led block lies in their uniformity, stability, and suitability for large-scale, flat, and high efficiency lighting scenarios. If you are struggling with the choice between using LED strips and block lights, please feel free to chat with us. We can help you calculate how much each of the block lights and LED strips costs and how effective they are. After calculating, you can decide which one to use.
